The generic competition, which the agency is expected to review in mid-March, will reduce the price of the cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor, the company said.
“With a lower cost of the drug, we believe it will be more affordable for people to take and use the drug,” said Dr. Robert G. Fierman, chairman and chief executive of GlaxoSmithKline P. A. in London.
